Full refurbishment and renovation
Gestalt Developments had the pleasure to design and refurbish this one bedroom Mayfair apartment.
The original character of the apartment was inspired and designed in a Mayfair luxurious and classical theme.
The client's requirements included keeping the original classical theme, but making the spaces more vibrant and brighter, implementing a floral design and modernising the kitchen and shower room.
Our creative objective was to not only keep the original character and theme of the apartment, but also to update it and add some modern features.
We worked with our wallpaper specialists and hand picked a beautiful gold themed rose wallpaper to complement and assist in keeping the Mayfair theme. We replaced the original flooring with an engineered bespoke Brazilian cherry wooden floor, with a beautiful herringbone design. The kitchen and bathroom were completely gutted and redesigned to add modern elements within the design. We also redesigned the ceilings with our signature pocket lights to work with the wallpaper and achieve a successful collaboration of traditional and modern.
There is a fine line between maintaining history and character in design, but we managed to get a right balance to accommodate a modern update within this Mayfair apartment.
The client admitted he was initially cautious of how the classical theme would work alongside modern, but was more than happy when he saw the final outcome.
