Uxbridge - London

The site was a 2-bedroom terraced house located on a residential street near central Uxbridge, recently purchased by the clients.

The clients, a married couple with two children, felt that the space on the ground floor, especially the kitchen area, was too small and impractical. The area lacked storage and was dark and dreary, meaning they couldn't fully enjoy the space. They also desired an additional bedroom in their home for their growing family needs.

Gestalt Developments and Elite Trading Services worked with the clients to understand their needs and to find a suitable solution.

Works included a ground floor rear and side extension, to open up and brighten the existing small, dark kitchen, a loft conversion to allow for an additional bedroom, and a complete renovation of the interior.

The rear extension created a new dining area for the family to enjoy meals and to socialise together. The side extension expanded the kitchen space and allowed for a breakfast island and much needed storage compartments. Two skylights were designed into the ground floor extensions, to allow a rich amount of natural daylight to flood through the home.

In addition, a loft conversion created two good size bedrooms, a shower room and hallway. The family had originally desired one additional bedroom, but after a thorough assessment and careful design work, it was clear that the loft space allowed for two bedrooms. The family were extremely happy, as it means their house is now future-proofed in case they decide to grow further.

 

The loft conversion transformed the existing property from a two-bedroom, one-bathroom house into a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom house, and the ground extensions enhanced the living space immensely. The family were absolutely overjoyed with the final outcome. Gestalt Development helped transform an outdated and cramped space into a beautiful, modern and bright four-bedroom house that this family are now able to call home.
